How to Update Date of Birth in Aadhaar Card

Incorrect Date of Birth mentioned in your Aadhaar Card can create numerous problems when you use it for identification. Some of the common problems reported on having an incorrect date of birth are unsuccessful in linking Aadhaar with PAN and EPF due to the date of birth mismatch.

Suppose if you have noticed that your date of birth in your Aadhaar is incorrectly mentioned then you can submit an update request. But before submitting an update request for DOB, you should keep in mind that the date of birth cannot be updated again and again, as the UIDAI has set a limit on it that is it can be updated only once in a lifetime. So you should act very wisely and update your correct and valid date of birth as present in your document.

There are several methods to get the date of birth corrected on your Aadhaar Card, but to correct your date of birth you need to furnish a supporting document that mentions the correct date of birth. Below is the list of the documents which can be used to update date of birth.

Once you download the application form, just take a print out. It is not necessary to take the printout of the form in color, but you can also printout of the form in black and white

Once taking a printout of the form, start filling up the form

On top of the form tick mark on your residential status: if you are a resident of India then tick mark on the Resident field, and if you are a Non-Resident Indian then tick mark on the NRI field

If your Aadhaar number has already been generated then enter your Aadhaar Number in the second field and if your Aadhaar number is not yet generated then fill your enrolment id in the first field

In the 2.1 field of the form tick mark on the field Date of Birth, as you want to correct your DOB mentioned in Aadhaar

Then fill in the details like name, gender, date of birth, address, mobile number, email id, in block letters.

At the bottom of the form under field 8 document based DOB section mention the document which you would be producing to prove your correct date of birth, and sign below

Review the form once to check if it is filled correctly and once done, just enclose the photocopies of self-attested supporting documents

To update your Date of Birth in Aadhar Card you will have to visit the nearest Aadhaar Card Enrolment Centre with Aadhaar Update/ Correction Form and the original document to prove the date of birth

Just submit the form with the document to the Aadhaar enrollment operator, your document will be verified and scanned, and returned back to you

The enrolment operator will start filling up the details which you will need to review

Once your data is entered your biometric data will be captured for verification

After verification is done you will have to pay the requested fee for the demographic update done. Once you make the payment, you will be provided with Aadhaar Update receipt

You will soon receive a confirmation SMS on your mobile number about Aadhar Update Request within 3 – 7 weeks

Alternatively, there is also an online mode with which you can update your date of birth in Aadhaar at the comfort of your home.

Process to Update Date of Birth in Aadhaar Card Online

With the Online process, you can easily update or correct your date of birth in Aadhaar Card at the comfort of your home. But for this online process, your mobile number should be linked to your Aadhaar Card to get OTP on your registered mobile number. And if your mobile number is not registered or if your registered mobile number is not available with you then you cannot proceed with this online method, and first, you will need to get your mobile number updated in your Aadhaar Card.

To update the date of birth in Aadhaar, from the web browser visit the official UIDAI Website https://uidai.gov.in/

Once you are on the UIDAI homepage page, just click on Update Demographics Data Online under the update Aadhaar section

On the next screen, you will need to click on the Proceed to Update Aadhaar button

On the next screen you will need to enter your 12 digits Aadhaar Number, solve the captcha code and click on the Send OTP button

The One Time Password Code will be sent on your registered mobile number which you will need to enter in the enter OTP field and click on the login button

On the next page, you will get two options:

• Update demographics data including address
• Update address via Secret Code

Just click on the Update Demographics Data

On the next page, all the fields will be displayed which you can update online

Just select Date of Birth field and click on the proceed button

Once clicking proceed button a pop-up will appear saying you can update your DOB once in a lifetime. So here you just need to tick mark on “Yes, I am aware of this” and click on the proceed button

On the next screen you need to enter your correct date of birth, select the document from the list which you will be uploading and then upload the scanned document

Note down that the scanned document must be in JPEG, PNG or PDF file format and the size of the file should be below 2 MB

Once uploading the document, just click on the preview button

On the next screen the new/correct date of birth will be previewed with the uploaded document

Once reviewing the entered detail, just solve the below CAPTCHA security code and click on the Send OTP button

The One Time Password will be sent on your registered mobile number

Enter the received 6 digits OTP code in the enter OTP field, tick mark on the “I hereby confirm that, I have read the instructions carefully and the information provided by me to UIDAI is true and correct” and click on the Make Payment button

The page will get redirected to the payment gateway page, where you will need to make an online payment using Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking

Upon making the successful payment, your request will be submitted and on the next screen Acknowledgement receipt for SSUP Demographics Update will be generated

You can download the Acknowledgement Slip of Online Demographic Update for future reference or tracking status purpose

You can use the URN number to check the status of your update request.

Your Date of Birth will get updated in 15 to 20 days and you will receive SMS of the same.

Process to Correct Date of Birth in Aadhar Card via Post [Not Working]

To update the date of birth with Aadhaar via Post, download the correction form by clicking here.

Once you download the Aadhar Data Update/Correction Form just take a printout and let’s start filling it, from the top option Field for Update/ Correction don’t forget to tick mark on Date of Birth as you want to correct your date of birth.

Next, from the below field, you will have to enter your 12 digit Aadhar Number, then fill up your details like name, gender, address, pin code, mobile number, email, in block letters in both English and your regional local language. Fill in the complete Aadhaar Data Update/Correction Form and sign off. Make sure that you don’t make any mistakes while filling up the form.

From the last option Document Details (Write Names of the documents attached. Refer Acceptable Valid documents) and enclose the document photocopies self-attest with your signature.

Once you fill-up the form completely just review it once and place it in an envelope with photocopies of documents.

On top, mark the envelope as “Aadhaar Update/Correction” and mention anyone address from below.

Review the data entered for correctness and completeness in English as well as the local language. UIDAI will not make any corrections to the information in your request.

Post envelop via India Post, in few days you will receive confirmation SMS of update regarding your email id. This is how you can Update Email ID Registered with Aadhaar Card via Post.
