How to Link Aadhaar with LIC Policy

Linking Aadhaar and PAN with all your insurance policies is now mandatory, whether it may be Life Insurance, Health Insurance or any other types of insurance.

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority has released a notification stating it is mandatory to link Aadhaar and PAN Card with all insurance products, below is exact circular passed by IRDA.

Central Government vide gazette notification dated 1st June 2017 notified the Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017 making Aaadhar and PAN/Form 60 mandatory for availing financial services including insurance and also for linking the existing policies with the same.

If you have Insurance Policies in your name than you should get it linked with your Aadhaar and PAN Card as soon as possible, and in case if you don’t have Aadhaar Card than just apply for one as soon as possible. And if you don’t have PAN Card but have Aadhaar Card for time being you can submit Form 60 (which is to be filled by those individuals who does not have a permanent account number and who enters into any transaction specified in rule 114B) and once you apply and get your PAN Card you can later on update it with your Insurance Policies.

How to Link Aadhaar with LIC Policy Online

• To link Aadhaar with LIC Policy Online keep your Aadhaar Card, PAN Card and LIC Policies handy with you. Mobile Number as registered with UIDAI is to be entered. OTP will be sent to the number provided. (In case your mobile number is not updated in Aadhaar, kindly visit nearest Aadhaar Center to get your mobile number updated.)
• Once you have these details ready with you just visit LIC Seeding App page by visiting //kyclink.licindia.in/UIDSeedingWebApp/

• In Link Aadhaar Number and PAN With Your Policy Portal form fill in your details like Full Name as per Aadhaar, Date of Birth, Aadhaar Number, Select Gender, email id, PAN, mobile number, enter policy number and click on add policy (if you have more than one policies than you can add them all by using add policy one by one).
• Accept the acknowledgement, solve the captcha code and click on get otp button.

• You will receive one time password on your registered mobile number, enter the same received code in enter otp field and click on submit button.

• After submitting the details you will get message on next screen saying “Your Aadhaar details received for linking to your following LIC policies. Confirmation SMS and e-mail will be sent to you after verification with UIDAI”
• After verification with UIDAI, SMS / mail confirmation will be sent to you. The verification may take few days.

How to Link Aadhaar with LIC Policy Offline

• To link your Aadhaar with LIC Policy Offline make sure you have Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, and Policy Details. Make all these details and documents ready, take a photocopy of your Aadhaar and PAN Card and walk in to LIC Branch Office.
• Request the LIC Branch Office executive to link your Aadhaar and PAN with your LIC Policies.
• Once the authority takes your request, you would be given an acknowledgement receipt.
• After verification with UIDAI, SMS / mail confirmation will be sent to you. The verification may take few days.
• That’s it, this is how you can link Aadhaar with LIC Policy Offline.

As per Government directives it is mandatory to link Aadhaar and PAN with all Insurance Policies, these above instructions are just for Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Policies and not for insurance plans from other insurers.
