If you want to Seed your Aadhaar Number with SBI Account through Online SBI then for this you should have Internet Banking service enabled. Without internet banking service you won’t be able to perform SBI Online Aadhaar Seeding. If you are not yet registered for Internet Banking, you can do so online using your ATM cum Debit Card details. To register for online banking by visiting the Official SBI Bank Website.

To link your Aadhaar Number with SBI Account, just log in to Online SBI Internet Banking

From the home screen, just click on Profile > My Profile

Enter your Profile Password and click on the submit button to view my profile

Alternatively, if you don’t have Internet Banking Service you can also link your Aadhaar Number with SBI Account via ATM, SMS, by visiting your branch, etc.

If you are a non-internet banking user of SBI, then without internet banking facility SBI allows you to link your bank account with Aadhaar online via SBI Aadhaar Seeding OTP based mode.

Once you reach on the page Link Aadhaar to your State Bank of India accounts (Customer No./ CIF), you will need to fill up the fields asked in the form such as your account number, enter the text shown in the image and click on the submit button

You will receive one-time-password on your registered mobile number

Enter the received OTP code and click on the submit button

On next page, you will need to enter your 12 digits Aadhaar Number

Once entering the Aadhaar Number, click on the submit button

And now on your Aadhaar registered mobile number, you will receive OTP

Enter the received OTP and click on the submit button

That’s it, you have successfully got your Aadhaar linked with SBI Bank Account.

You will also receive confirmation SMS on your registered mobile number regarding the SBI Aadhar link.

For SBI KIOSK Banking Aadhaar link, you will need to visit nearest SBI ATM with your Aadhaar Number and ATM Card

Insert your SBI ATM cum Debit Card into the ATM

Select Service Registration

You will be prompted to enter your ATM PIN, enter the PIN

From the next screen, you will have to select Aadhaar registration

Select the type of account from Savings or Current

On the next screen, you will be prompted to enter your 12 digits Aadhaar Number

Enter the Aadhaar Number and again you will be asked to re-enter the Aadhaar Number for confirmation

Once entering the Aadhaar Number just click on confirm button

You will instantly receive SMS on your registered mobile number the status of your seeding

ATM – Insert Debit card >> Service Registration >> Enter PIN >> Aadhaar Card >> Select Account i.e. Savings or Current Account >> Enter Aadhaar Number >> Re-enter Aadhaar No. >> Confirm

To link your Aadhaar Number with State Bank of India Account through Yono app , make sure you have installed the app on your phone

Once you have installed the app, just log in with your account or register an account

From the homepage of the Yono app, just tap on the hamburger menu

Tap on the Service Request

From the Service Request page tap on Profile

Click on Aadhaar > Aadhaar linking

Select your CIF from the drop-down list

Fill up the Resident Consent Form to link your SBI Account with your Aadhaar number. You can get the Linking of Aadhaar / UID Number with the Account Form free of cost from the SBI Branch. However, you can even download the SBI Aadhaar Link Form Online.

If you have downloaded the SBI Aadhar link form pdf then you need to first take a printout and then fill the form with a blue pen

Submit the form along with the photocopy of your Aadhaar to the branch

Bank will provide you the Confirmation of the insertion/ linking of Aadhaar number with bank account receipt duly signed and stamped by tearing the bottom part of the form.

The branch will initiate necessary verification and linking will be completed

Once Aadhaar linking is completed you will receive SMS on your registered mobile number.

Get Aadhaar linking letter from SBI Branch or download it from the above download link

If you have downloaded the form then you will need to take a printout on A4 Paper

Once you have the Linking of Aadhaar / UID Number Form in front of you, just take a blue pen and begin filling up the form

  • In the first field of the letter, you will need to mention the SBI branch name with address
  • Then fill the date on which you are filling the form or submitting the form
  • In the saving bank account number, space enter your SBI Bank Account number
  • Then again in I am maintaining a Savings Bank Account number field, enter your State Bank of India account number and then the branch name
  • In Aadhaar UID Number field enter your 12 digits Aadhaar Number and not the enrollment number
  • Enter the full name as mentioned in Aadhaar in the Name of the Aadhaar Holder field
  • In Address on the Aadhaar letter field, enter the complete address as mentioned in your Aadhaar
  • Finally, in the end, the account holder will need to sign with the name
  • Along with this form, you will need to enclose Xerox copy of the Aadhaar letter duly attested
  • The below section Confirmation of insertion/linking of Aadhaar number with Bank Account is for bank purpose

You are done filling up the UID Aadhaar linking letter.

The status of Aadhaar linking will be communicated on the registered mobile number. However, you can Check Aadhar Card link to SBI Bank Account Status online as well.

To check SBI Aadhar link status login to Online SBI Portal

Go to Profile > My Profile by entering the profile password

On My Profile page under Aadhaar Number field if you are able to see your Aadhaar number then that means your Aadhaar has been successfully linked with your SBI Bank Account

If your Aadhaar Number is not displayed in that field then just click on the update button

Under Update Aadhaar with Bank accounts(CIF) click on the inquiry tab and you will be able to see the current SBI account Aadhaar link status.

If you hold SBI Credit Card then Credit Cards can also be linked with Aadhaar Number, to know the process to link SBI Credit Card with Aadhaar follow the below steps.

To link your SBI Credit Card with Aadhaar Number, you will need to first set up an account on SBI Credit Card Portal. If you already have an SBI Credit Card Account cerated on SBI Card Official website then just log in with your details and if you don’t have SBI Credit Card Account then just register one by using option register now button.

Once you are logged in to your SBI Credit Card Account on SBI Card Portal, just click on my accounts > Submit KYC Documents

Link Aadhaar with SBI Credit Card

On the Submit KYC Documents page, you will need to select your Credit Card (by default your credit card will be selected, but if you hold more then one credit card then you have to make a selection from the list)

Below you will find Current Address Proof, Photo ID Proof and Passport size Photograph fields, so you need to scan your documents and self attest it and store it on your device in pdf, jpg, tiff, png or gif (the file size should not exceed 5 MB)

You can upload your Aadhaar Copy as address proof document, as well as photo identity proof document (make sure you upload scanned copy of your Aadhaar and not the password protected eAadhaar file)

Once uploading the documents, just click on the submit button and you are done successfully linking your Aadhaar Number with your SBI Credit Card.

Aadhaar is still a valid document, but The Supreme Court has passed on a verdict stating forcing people for linking Aadhaar with their bank accounts is unconstitutional. This judgment given by The Supreme Court has given relief for those people who have still not linked their Aadhaar with Bank Account. But what about those people who have already linked their Aadhaar with their Bank Account?

So those people who have already linked their Aadhaar with their SBI Bank Account or people who have opened SBI Bank Account by providing Aadhaar Number, have an option to delink their Aadhaar from SBI Bank Account. It is not mandatory to delink Aadhaar from SBI Bank Account, but if the customer insists to delink or unlink his or her Aadhaar, then he or she can do it.

After this recent judgment of The Supreme Court of India, the concerned authorities have already directed guidelines on delinking Aadhaar to all financial institutions.

If you want to delink your Aadhaar from SBI Bank Account, you will have to follow the instructions given by the State Bank of India. And to help you out below we have mentioned the complete procedure on how to delink Aadhaar from SBI Bank Account.

But before we begin, I would like to first clear with you that if you have opened Account in SBI Bank via Aadhaar eKYC then you will have to again undergo through the re-KYC process which will require you to submit your Proof of Identity, Proof of Address Document to complete your KYC and existing delink Aadhaar details.

So now let’s get on to the complete process on how to unlink Aadhaar from SBI Bank Account.

As of now, State Bank of India does not provide online facility to account holders to unlink Aadhaar from SBI Bank Account Online. But to link Aadhaar to SBI Bank Account, the various online options still exist like through SBI Bank NetBanking, Mobile Banking, and Phone Banking.

Process to Delink Aadhaar from SBI Bank Account via Branch

To delink Aadhaar from your State Bank of India Account, you will have to personally visit your branch where you are holding your account.

Write an application to The Bank Manager regarding the subject to delink Aadhaar from your SBI Bank Account, or else if Bank is providing pre-formatted application form for delinking Aadhaar then you can request for the form and fill in details like your name, bank account number, and enclose the documents which are required.

Once you are done with filling up the application form, submit the filled application form to the branch manager of the SBI Bank.

Make sure you have taken a photocopy of the filled application form and keep it as an acknowledgment by taking branch manager’s signature, stamp/seal on that photocopy for your future reference.
