Recently UIDAI has made lots of changes in its system and one of the major update in Aadhaar was the relation details. Previously UIDAI used to provide several options to select from relation field like S/o, C/o, W/o or D/o, so by selecting these applicable fields you could have mentioned your details accordingly. Like if you have wanted to mention your father’s name then you could have selected S/o or D/o, and if you have wanted to mention your husband’s then you could have selected w/o and in case of guardian you could have selected c/o.
But now these relation fields like s/o, d/o, w/o has been revised and only one field has been provided in Aadhaar which is c/o. So whatever relation details you may want to enter, you will now have to enter it by selecting c/o field. In c/o field you can mention your father’s name, husband’s name, guardian’s name, relative’s name, or your landlord name. In fact if you don’t want to mention any of the relation details by selecting c/o, then you also have an option to keep this field blank.
Change c/o to s/o or c/o to w/o or c/o to d/o in Aadhaar Card
Those residents who were enrolled or updated their Aadhaar earlier before this update, their Aadhaar will continue having S/O, W/O or D/O with relation details mentioned. But if you try to do any changes or update in your Address then you will have to mandatorily change the relation details too as it is a part of address field, and when you select relation details you will only get one option which is C/O.
So incase if you are still looking out for a solution on how to change c/o to s/o in Aadhaar Card or how to change c/o to w/o in Aadhaar Card or how to change c/o to d/o in Aadhaar Card then this option is no longer available via UIDAI Update Portal or Aadhaar Seva Kendra. You will have to either stick with c/o by entering your relation details in this field or else you could keep relation details blank as it is one of the optional field.
S/o D/o or w/o in Aadhaar have now standardized it to c/o, but filling this field has kept as optional. However if you want to mention your father’s name, or husbands name then you can still use this c/o option and enter the details.
