Recently UIDAI has made lots of changes in its system and one of the major updates in Aadhaar was the relation details. Previously UIDAI used to provide several options to select from relation fields like S/O, C/O, W/O or D/O, so by selecting these applicable fields you could have mentioned your details accordingly.
If you don’t know the meaning of abbreviations like C/o, S/o, W/o, D/o in Aadhaar Card then below are the full form of such abbreviations:
Table of Contents
C/o S/o D/o W/o full form in Aadhaar Card
|c/o full form in Aadhar Card means Care of|
|s/o in Aadhaar means Son of|
|d/o in Aadhaar Card means daughter of|
|w/o in Aadhaar means wife of|
If you are still confused regarding these abbreviations then we have explained it below in the Hindi language.
|C/o||C/o full form in Aadhar Card in Hindi : के द्वारा|
|S/o||S/o ka Matlab hai ka beta (का बेटा)|
|D/o||D/o ka Matlab hai kee betee (की बेटी)|
|W/o||W/o means in Aadhar Card in Hindi: kee patnee (की पत्नी)|
Like if you have wanted to mention your father’s name then you could have selected S/O or D/O, and if you have wanted to mention your husband’s then you could have selected W/O and in case of a guardian, you could have selected C/O.
But now these relation fields like s/o, d/o, w/o has been revised and only one field has been provided in Aadhaar which is c/o. So whatever relation details you may want to enter, you will now have to enter it by selecting the C/O field.
What to write in care of in Aadhar Card
In C/O field you can mention your father’s name, husband’s name, guardian’s name, relative’s name, or your landlord name. In fact, if you don’t want to mention any of the relation details by selecting c/o, then you also have an option to keep this field blank.
Change c/o to s/o or c/o to w/o or c/o to d/o in Aadhaar Card
Those residents who were enrolled or updated their Aadhaar earlier before this update, their Aadhaar will continue having S/O, W/O or D/O with relation details mentioned. But if you try to do any changes or update in your Address then you will have to mandatorily change the relation details too as it is a part of the address field, and when you select relation details you will only get one option which is C/O.
So in case if you are still looking out for a solution on how to change c/o to s/o in Aadhaar Card or how to change c/o to w/o in Aadhaar Card or how to change c/o to d/o in Aadhaar Card then this option is no longer available via UIDAI Update Portal or Aadhaar Seva Kendra or in mAadhaar App. You will have to either stick with c/o by entering your relation details in this field or else you could keep relation details blank as it is one of the optional field.
S/o D/o or w/o in Aadhaar have now standardized it to c/o, but filling this field has kept as optional. However, if you want to mention your father’s name or husband’s name then you can still use this c/o option and enter the details.
C/o in Aadhaar is not mandatory and if you want you can skip it, C/o details in the address are used for letter delivery purposes and is a part of the address.
