This specific variant of Aadhaar Card namely Baal Aadhaar carries a validity until the child attends 5 Years of age. And once the child attends 5 Years of age, it needs to be updated.

But for Baal Aadhaar you need to follow certain extra steps unlike regular Aadhaar. With the above document, the parents or guardian also needs to be present with their Aadhaar Number for Aadhaar authentication. The Aadhaar number of the child is linked with either of the parent’s Aadhaar. In case both parents are not available at the time of enrolment, guardian shall authenticate and must furnish details of Aadhaar numbers of parents wherever available. Aadhaar authentication by the guardian is required.

Steps to Register for Baal Aadhaar Card

To apply for Baal Aadhaar you will need to keep your documents readily available like ID Proof Documents, Address Proof Documents, and Parents Aadhaar Card. When the operator visits to enroll the child for Aadhaar, below are the process which you will need to go through:

The operator will visit your premises with a android based tablet in which the Child Enrolment Lite Client (CELC) will be installed

Once the Child is ready for the enrolment, the operator will launch the app Child Enrolment Lite Client (CELC) and sign into his or her account on the tablet

After logging into the Child Enrolment Lite Client (CELC) app, the operator will tap on the Enrolment which will begin the enrollment process

The app will open the Enrolment Page, in which the operator will enter the name of the child, gender, date of birth and the acknowledgement mobile number

Next a photograph will be captured of the child

Parents Aadhaar which is both Mothers and Fathers Aadhaar Number will need to be furnished. However if the child is survived by only one parent or only one of the parent’s Aadhaar is generated on the date of enrolment then in such case only one parent’s Aadhaar Number will be entered.

After parents Aadhaar numbers is filled, the operator will tick mark on any one Aadhaar Number against the Aadhaar Number of parent who can perform biometric. Wherever feasible, it is advisable to accord priority to the authentication of the mother’s Aadhaar. It is pertinent to observe that the enrollment of a child via the Child Enrolment Lite Client is exclusively permissible through parental authentication. Notably, guardian-based enrollment cannot be facilitated using the Child Enrolment Lite Client.

The Operator will then process with the Parent Authentication by taping on the Authentication, Biometric authentication can be conducted for either parent. Successful authentication is a prerequisite for proceeding with subsequent enrollment steps.

Any one of the parent will need to go through biometric authentication by providing their iris or fingerprint impressions, once the authentication turns successful the operator will tap on the Review button

The review screen will presents a comprehensive overview of all data furnished during the enrollment process. In the event that the operator or parent identifies any inaccuracies in the entered data, rectification is necessary prior to advancing to the subsequent step, accomplished by activating the reset function.

To finalize the enrollment, the operator will furnish their Aadhaar details and undergo biometric authentication to validate their endorsement.

Upon the completion of a successful enrollment, the operator is required to transcribe the Enrollment Identification (EID) onto Proof of Relationship Document. The Enrollment Agency (EA) is responsible for submitting the Proof of Relationship documents, accompanied by a hard copy of the Enrolment report, to the Document Management System (DMS)

Following the successful authentication of the operator, the operator will proceed to select the ‘Complete Enrolment’ button in order to finalize the enrolment process. Upon successful completion, the enrolment data is automatically transmitted to the UIDAI database, facilitated by the online environment in which the enrolment is conducted. A confirmation message confirming the successful enrolment and data transfer will be displayed.

Printed acknowledgement slips for child Aadhaar will not be issued. Instead, the enrolment acknowledgement details and status updates up to the point of Aadhaar generation will be forwarded to both the designated acknowledgement mobile number provided during enrolment, as well as the registered mobile number of the parent.
