National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified the query of the students “whether providing Aadhaar Number is mandatory while applying for University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) or Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main)?”
Yes! Aadhaar Number is not mandatory for candidates applying for UGC-NET or JEE-Main, in the place students can enter any of other valid government identity number like Passport Number, Ration Card Number, Voting Card Number, and Bank Account Number etc. An official statement has also been released by National Testing Agency (NTA) providing which all documents you can use as an id proof while applying for UGC-NET or JEE-Main.
While filling the online application forms, students can provide their any of other Government Identity Card Number if they don’t have their Aadhaar.
UGC NET 2018 Examination will be 9th to 23rd December 2018. Like JEE-Main, UGC NET will conduct examination twice a year which is in month July and then in December as per the newly constituted National Testing Agency (NTA). Registration of UGC NET has been started from 1st September and the last date is 30th September. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from 19th November and the results would be out on 10th January 2019.
JEE Main examination is set to schedule from 6th January 2019 and second examination of JEE Main that is JEE Main II would be conducted from 6th April 2019. To be eligible for JEE main or advanced, a candidate should score minimum 75% in Class 12 Board Exams or a place among the top 20% of the boards is required. For SC and ST Category Candidates this condition has been lowered by 65%.
